Dr. Manuela Troschke
Department of Economics, Migration and Integration
Research associate
Manuela Troschke studied business economics at LMU Munich. While assisting for a year at the chair of Economy and Society of South East Europe, she earned a doctorate in economics in 1998. She wrote her disseration on the topic: "Energiepolitik in Russland" (energy policy in Russia). Dr Troschke has been at the Institute for East European Studies as a research associate since 1998. Until 2000 she was at the chair of Comparative Economic Research at LMU Munich, where she had been involved in teaching for several years.
As far as research is concerned, Dr Troschke places an emphasis on corporate and state governance, and the difficulties regarding resource-based economies. Apart from her research activities at the Institute for East European Studies, she is raising third-party funds autonomously and she is involved in international project management. Numerous field studies and stay-abroads in Eastern Europe, particularly in the Ukraine, Russia and Central Asia, as well as corresponding language skills make her a very suitable person for the Institute for East European Studies.
