TEMPUS Project - New Curricula in Trade Theory and Econometrics
Modern International Economics based on microeconomic theory and modelling and econometric applications of these models are underrepresented in the current curricula in Kazakh universities, who put the main focus on macroeconomics. It is the philisophy of the project to introduce one special subject critical for the economic development of the exort-oriented economy of Kazakhstan. Starting from the basic level with a B.Sc. course, proceeding to master level with a M.Sc. course, applying the new skills econometrically on master and Ph.D. level, and supervising the successfull Ph.D. students in their empirical trade-oriented research, the project captures all levels of the educational process and creates highly skilled future multipliers of the project. To take into account the geographical remoteness of many students in Kazakhstan, the introduction of distance-learning supplements the project. Project Webpage: www-cgi.uni-regensburg.de/TTEC/
