In the context of "Virtuelle Fachbibliothek Osteuropa", the essays as well as the picture catalogue and the catalogue of hidden maps are entered into an Access database. They can be accessed via ViFaOst: section "Aufsatzdatenbank Osteuropa", category "Geschichte". Online By making use of retrospective cataloguing, large parts of the library's collection are to be made available via the Internet. Especially items from the early years of the library (as of 1952) are to be catalogued, as there are many rarities among them, e.g. antiquarian works from the 19th century.
