Summer School at the German-Kazakh University in Almaty, Kazakhstan
From August 1 to August 5, 2011, the Institute for East European Studies Regensburg organized a Summer School at the German-Kazakh University in Almaty, Kazakhstan. This event took place within the framework of the VW Project “Migration and Remittances in Central Asia”. It aimed at capacity building in the region. Altogether 18 participants from different Central Asian countries presented their research findings and discussed the complex problems of migration and remittances in Central Asia. The programme of the Summer School included lectures, discussions and meetings with experts.
