New in OEI Database
OEI Database contains systematic information on important indicators for Economic and Social Models of (Eastern) European countries. It now contains a new area Energy and Environment (key indicators for all countries beginning with 1995). New in OEI Database are tables to wages, minimum wages and educational attainment.

The OEI Database for Economic and Social Models now contains in addition to key indicators - presenting data for all countries for the period beginning with 1995 - tables and figures (excel or pdf) on single indicators and countries or country groups. Reports based on OEI-publications offer data and brief comments. Download under New in OEI-Database.

Alexander M. Danzer appointed as assistant professor at the LMU Munich
Alexander M. Danzer, who has been affiliated with the OEI in the VW funded research project "Migration and Remittances in Central Asia", was appointed as assistant professor at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich after receiving his PhD in economics from the University of London. In the future Mr. Danzer will become research fellow at the OEI Regensburg in order to remain an active member of the aforementioned research on migration in Central Asia.

Jürgen Jerger und Richard Frensch in DAAD Auswahlkommission
Der Institutsdirektor Jürgen Jerger und der stv. Direktor Richard Frensch gehören für den DAAD der Auswahlkommissionen für Stipendiaten in Zentralasien und Ostmitteleuropa an. Im Rahmen dieser Tätigkeiten nahm Professor Jerger an Auswahlsitzungen in Kirgisien (14.-18.2.) und der Slowakei (22.-23.2.) teil. Richard Frensch fuhr für Auswahlgespräche nach Polen (18./19.2.) und
Tschechien (24./25.2.).

The OEI Database for Economic and Social Models now contains country-snapshots. Each country-snapshot (in pdf-format) contains graphs of a number of important indicators (growth rate, participation rate, unemployment rate, social protection expenditures in % of GDP, social inequality, Human Development Index).
